Andy Schleck ha declarado que se siente furioso con el recorrido del Tour, ya que opina que el Tour no puede decidirse en bajadas en carreteras como la de ayer. Creo que se refiere a la misma en la que otros corredores fueron más rápidos que él, incluido su hermano.

 

Andy Schleck declares that he is furious with the Tour route as he thinks that the Tour cannot be decided in descents like yesterday´s. I think that he refers to the same one in which other cyclsts were faster than him, including his brother.

Por primera vez en la Historia, dos noruegos son primero y segundo en una etapa del Tour, Hushovd y Boasson. Hesjedal, canadiense, tercero. Hushovd se apunta tres etapas ya, dos de montaña. No está mal para un sprinter.

 

By the first time in History, two Norwegians take first and second in a Tour stage, Hushovd and Boasson. Hesjedal, Canadian, third. Hushovd scores three in his account, two of them mountainous. Not bad for a sprinter.

He pensado que Voeckler podía ganar el Tour, para mí que los Schleck podrían poner en un aprieto a Contador, que a éste el Giro le pasa factura, etc. En la etapa reina del Tour, a día de hoy, se ha demostrado que no tengo idea de ciclismo. Me alegro.

 

I thought that Voeckler could win the Tour, in my thoughts Schlecks could put Contador in an awkward situation, that the Giro could have invoiced him, etc. In the queen stage, up to date within the current Tour, it has been clearly stated that I have no clue about cycling. Gladdens me.

 

En los Campeonatos de España de MTB 2011 que se celebraron en Becerril de la Sierra, Madrid, se han coronado Campeones Juan Antonio Hermida y Rocío Gamonal. Enhorabuena a los dos. Por cierto, ambos han usado los servicios de SPORT LAB en algún momento de sus carreras.

 

At the 2011 Spanish MTB Championship that were held in Becerril de La sIerra, Madrid, Juan José Hermida y Rocío Gamonal were crowned as Champions. Congratulaitons to the both of them. By the way, they have used SPORT LAB services at some point in their careers.

Algunos deportes requieren protecciones para las caídas y sus practicantes, gracias a Dios, las usan. Otros deportes apenas se ven afectados por este tipo de incidentes, léase tenis, fútbol, ping-pong, baloncesto, lacrosse, ajedrez, póquer, etc. Sin embargo, hay deportistas que, por una mejor preservación de su integridad física,  anulan o posponen sus compromisos ante lo que consideran lesiones que puedan impedir el normal desarrollo de su actividad.

 

El ciclista no lleva protección, salvo el casco, porque ya tiene bastante con arrastrar su alma y, pese a todo, sufre terribles accidentes que les provocan heridas que acabarían con una prueba o con la carrera de deportistas de otras especialidades. A veces se dice que hay tíos que están hechos de otra pasta. En el caso del ciclista, además, es cierto.

 

 

Some sports require protection against fall and its practicing use, thanks God. Other sports are merely affected by this issues, i.e., tennis, soccer, ping-pong, basket, lacrosse, chess, poker, etc. Nevertheless, there are sportsperson that, for a better protection of their physical integrity, cancel or delay their commitments due to what they consider injuries that can avoid their normal activity development.

 

Cyclist doesn´t wear protection, except helmets, because it is already quite heavy carrying their soul and, in spite of this, have serious accidents that cause wounds that could mean the end of a race or a career of other specialties´ sportspersons. Sometimes they say that there are dudes that are a cut above. In the case of cyclists, furthermore, it is true.

 

 

 

Nuestro Juan José Lobato, también conocido como el Nuevo Freire, ha corrido en el Tour del Lago Quinghai, China. Los más perspicaces lo habréis adivinado al leer el titular de esta noticia, puesto que lo he escrito, no en chino tradicional, sino simplificado.

La página del evento no funciona y no es fácil encontrar fotos, aunque sí he encontrado alguna que parece que ensalza más el sistema político que el evento.  También he encontrado otra del equipo bajo un cielo plomizo de contaminación que habla a las claras de dónde se ha metido esta gente para ganarse el pan en una bici.

En este favorecedor entorno, nuestro Lobato ha hecho un cuarto brillante puesto en la primera etapa. Enhorabuena a todos los ganadores, sobre todo por poder haber regresado a casa sanos y salvos.

Por cierto, sé que Lobato se va a quedar sin vacaciones en agosto para atender un evento ciclista. No le importa en absoluto.

Sé que no es necesario que diga que Tour del Lago Quinghai en chino se pronuncia así: Q?ngh?i hú l?yóu.

 

 

 

Our Juan José Lobato, aka The New Freire, just run the Tour of Lake Quinghai, China. The sharpest eyes will already have guessed that when reading the headline, as I wrote it, not in traditional Chinese, but simplified.

Event web doesn´t work and it is not easy to find pictures, though I found some that praises the political regime more than the event itself. I also found another one in which you can see the team under a contaminated grey sky that speaks clearly about where these guys have to set to earn their bread and butter on a bike.

In this friendly environment, our Lobato scored a brilliant 4^th in the first stage. Congratulations to all the winners, basically for having been able to come back home safe and sound.

By the way, I know that Lobato will have no holidays on August to attend a cycling event. IIt doesn´t bother him at all.

 No need to say that Tour of Lake Quinghai must be pronounced like that: Q?ngh?i hú l?yóu.

Cav lleva cuatro. Impresionante equipo para ese niñato, tan buen ciclista, como maleducado. Amador del Movistar es el más honroso farolillo rojo que el Tour ha tenido nunca. Sube a siete por hora, pero no se rinde. El miércoles se verán las caras de nuevo para cederse el paso entre los potenciales ganadores. Voeckler no pedirá perdón si gana.

 

Cav´s fourth. Stunning team for such a spoiled git who is, as good cyclist, as bad-mannered. Amador from Movistar is the most honorable red lantern the Tour ever had. He climbs at seven kilometers an hour, but never surrenders. On Wed each of the supposed winners will see the last of other´s again to give way among supposed winners. Will Voeckler apologize if he wins?
